Quad bike brief instructions

History
Quad bike stated from Royal Enfield's powered quadracycle in the end of 19thcentury. Honda developed the first recreation ATV named us90 and introduced to American in 1970's. In 1982, Honda came out with the ATC 250R, which was the first model to have a full suspension, manualclutch and a disk brake. From then on, quad bike was expanded all over the world.

Concept
Quad bike is defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a vehicle that travels on low pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control.

Type
There are three kinds of quad bike, Road legal, off-road and utilities. Road legal is allowed to ride on pubilc road with driven license, and need to be registered. Off-road quad bike is various used in farm, recreations and other terrains activities. And the utilities one is a kind of quad bike can be riding on road and doing other work jobs. There are also models for Adults and kids. It is not allow child to use adult quad bike. 70cc are suitable for children 6 years and older, 70cc to 90cc for 12 years and older, and ATVs over 90cc are only for 16 year olds and older. As a great many children were injured and some of them fatally in quad bike accident.

Quad bike is also different in engine size, starting, gear box brakes, safety, seat height, dimension, suspension wheel size, etc. There are electric and 4 stroke model start, fully automatic and semi-automatic gear box, drum breaks and disk breaks varied in different type of quad. Normally, automatic is suitable for junior and kids, cut-off cord is used on kids for safety. The sport quads are always in cool and awesome appearance make you exciting and intend for adventure. There are disk break systems, speed meter on race quad and also have a manual transmission and accelerate quickly. The speed can be reach 200mph more. Farm quads often used in pulling thing and riding around the farm as traffic tool.

Manufacturer
Popular producers of ATVs are Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Arctic Ca, Polaris etc. They control a big quad bike market share and also produce parts and provide perfect after-sales service.

Thank you for sharing these Quad Bike instructions, Karen.
The other day, I called the local police, when I whittnessed a 5 year old riding his kids quad unsupervised around his unfenced yard. It took the police almost a hour to respond. Parents need to pay attention, their kids life could depend on it.
